HTC One X+ specs Features Leaked:Latest

HTC’s not talking about a successor to the snazzy One X $99.99 at AT&T yet, but according to one Twitter user the One X+ is definitely real. As you might expect, it’s a modest evolutionary step and not a bold leap forward.

The processor has reportedly been bumped from the original 1.5GHz Tegra 3 quad-core to a 1.6GHz Tegra 3+ with an additional core that tops out at 1.7GHz. RAM and internal storage remain unchanged at 1GB and 32GB respectively, but the operating system has been updated: Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will be on board the One X+, as will HTC’s latest version of Sense. Those who found the original One X battery to be somewhat lacking at 1800mAh won’t be too thrilled to hear that the One X+ isn’t offering any plusses on that front — it will apparently ship with the same battery, so any endurance gains will come down to more efficient internals.

It’s bee rumored for some time that HTC was working on a spec bump for the flagship One X. Not too long ago, a mysterious entry appeared in the Nenamark database  that revealed an HTC handset with a Tegra 3+ SoC and Android Jelly Bean — but nothing official has been announced yet. That, of course, could very well change in a little over a week.

HTC sent out invitations for an event on September 19 in New York, where it’s quite possible the curtain will be officially lifted on the One X+. September’s been a busy month already with the Motorola and Nokia reveals, and Apple’s expected to drop the iPhone 5 soon, too. If HTC wants to keep pace, let’s hope they have something a bit more exciting than a buffed-up One X to show.
