If you are looking for a tablet under Rs. 15,000, you are spoilt for choice. There are a plethora of tablets available in this space that will give you a bang for your buck but may compromise on some features. However, the one place where these devices shouldn't compromise is on the display. If the display isn’t great, then there is nothing really good you can do with the tablet. So here’s listing 5 budget tablets for you with good displays.
The display on the HCL Me Y2 Tab is really good and probably the best we have seen on a budget tablet. The Y2 sports a 7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1024×600. We do wish that the resolution was a bit better but we are just nit picking. The display is very vibrant and the colours look sharp. It has fantastic viewing angles as well. Even under direct sunlight, you can see the contents on the display.
The Zync Z1000's 9.7-inch display has a resolution of 1024×768, which is better than the 1024×600 resolution of the 10.1-inch Micromax Funbook Pro. When running games, apps and videos, the device performed quite well. The representation of colours was nice and we were quite happy watching movies on the device. Having said that the display is quite reflective and susceptible to a lot of glare. The viewing angles also could have been better. The brightness of the display is quite good.
4:3 aspect ratio on a budget tablet is rare but that isn’t a bad thing. The Intex iTab has an 8-inch display with a resolution of 800×600. Playing games and apps on the device was surprisingly good and the 8-inch form factor makes it comfortable to use. You do lose out on some screen real estate while watching movies but it isn’t a big downer. Using the touchscreen keyboard on this tablet is very good in both, landscape and portrait modes.
The Lava E Tab sports a 7-inch display with a 480×800 resolution. The viewing angles on the display aren’t the best, but considering the price point the display performs quite well. The display is quite reflective too making it susceptible to glare. But watching videos on the screen was a surprisingly good experience. As a budget tablet, the typing experience on the tablet too was very good.
The best thing about the Wammy Desire is that it runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean straight out of the box. The colour representation on the screen is fantastic even though the viewing angles are limited. Watching videos is pleasant experience. Reading text however requires that you zoom in a bit. The web pages loaded nicely. The resolution of the 7-inch display is acceptable at 480×800 pixels.
